Billy Preston, nascido em 2 de setembro de 1946, em Houston, Texas, Estados Unidos da América, embora radicado em Los Angeles, Califórnia, falecido em 6 de junho de 2006 de complicações renais, foi um músico soul bastante influente desde o final dos anos 60, colaborando com grandes nomes da indústria da música desde então, incluindo The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, George Harrison, John Lennon, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, Sammy Davis Jr., Aretha Franklin, The Jackson 5, Quincy Jones, Bob Dylan, Jet e Red Hot Chili Peppers, principalmente no teclado e vocal.
